The raw brass will patina over time, adding depth and beauty to the metal. To brighten it up, put a q-tip into lemon and rub the surface of the metal. For a bright polish, use a product like Brasso.
Earwires/clasps
Most drop and dangle earrings have an option of 14k gold filled or brass.
You can see your options in the photo. The option (clasp/wire) given in the variations is the
recommended one for this design. However you can choose from the variations above
if you simply add a message saying which ones you prefer. +$5 for all 14k gold filled variations.
What is gold fill/ed?
Two to three layers of 14k or rose gold bonded to the surface of fine jewelers’ brass for a total of 5% of the weight of the metal. These layers will not wear away and are suitable for wearing in the shower, leaving in for long periods and will not expose sensitive ears to the brass inside. Plated or dipped metals have a comparatively tiny amount of gold and are prone to peeling or wearing away. Rose gold has a different alloy of metals giving it a warm pink glow. Sterling silver is an alloy of 92.5% pure silver and another non-harmful metal which makes the metal harder and helps it keep its shape better
