2x2” large brass “torii” 鳥居 gates swing like door-knockers from long sterling silver earwires.
Torii gates are found outside Japanese Shinto shrines and are a large inspiration for my work. It is an identifier for the shrine and marks the threshold between the sacred and regular world.
